Leitað að þýðendum og áminning um félagatal

Iðulega berast Bandalagi þýðenda og túlka fyrirspurnir um þýðendur og reynum við að svara eftir bestu getu. Það getur þó stundum orðið snúið sökum þess að í félagatalinu er enn ekki að finna nógu ítarlegar upplýsingar um félagsmenn. Stjórn Bandalagsins hafa hvað eftir annað borist óskir um að gera félagatalið betur úr garði og viljum við því hvetja ykkur til að senda okkur upplýsingar um ykkur sem þýðendur, ásamt mynd, á netfangið [email protected], og munum við þá uppfæra félagatalið.

Hér að neðan er ákall sem okkur hefur borist frá fyrirtækinu Softitler sem leitar logandi ljósi að þýðendum Hollywoodkvikmynda.

Softitler, a division of Deluxe Digital Studios, is currently seeking individual mother tongue freelance translators to create subtitles for Hollywood films (mostly in American English) that are subsequently released on DVD and/or for streaming for Internet video.

It is possible to work with us as long as one has 10 hours availability per week and access to a computer (not Macintosh) of adequate capacity. Preference is given to translators who are in possession of a DSL or higher speed Internet connection.

We ask that interested candidates send us a comprehensive CV in English and subsequently ask them to fill in our Application Form and complete a Proficiency Test as part of the application process. As I feel this would be a good part time opportunity for you, your students and others you know, I request you to apply and circulate this. As we find that some email ids are not reachable we request interested applicants to mention two in their CV. I've tried all the translator websites and would appreciate if you could suggest more ways of contacting Icelandic freelancers.
